Welcome to Year 3
Hello and welcome to Year 3.
Year 3 is an exciting time for everyone as the journey through Key Stage 2 begins and the children really develop the skills of independent learning. We will, of course, be having lots of fun along the way.
Throughout the year we will be exploring many exciting, engaging and interesting cross-curricular topics which include: ‘Me, Myself and I', ‘It's All Greek to ME!’, ‘Extreme Earth’, ‘Stone Age Boy’, ‘Roots and Shoots’, and ‘Marvellous Mixtures’.
Some of the topics will have a Creative Homework project linked to them, giving the children the opportunity to showcase their interests, strengths and talents.
Regular reading at home, using the Bug Club resources alongside 'real' books will reinforce the skills developed at school in order to ensure that children enjoy and understand the texts that they read.
Please ensure PE kits are in school all week. During the Spring term we enjoy getting active in our swimming lessons.
Mr O'Brien, Mrs Hatton and Mrs Haywood and the children promise to work hard. So that we are able to be the best we can be!
Keep checking out our page to see what we get up to!

Boats that float…
We had lots of fun making boats that float. Some of the boats sank, so we had to be really clever and do some fantastic problem solving to make the boats stay on top of the water. We added masts and sails, portholes and passengers.
