Victorian School Day!
Year 5 on September 18th 2017
Year 5 had a shock this morning, when they were transported back to 1887 and Victorian Schooling!
The day started with a hand and hygiene inspection, closely followed by arithmetic and learning our times tables by rote. Then we went outside for some drill practice. After play, the children practised their Victorian style handwriting. We also did some geography – naming countries and their capital cities. The day ended with some observational drawing. Regularly, throughout the day, the children would repeat back poems and some suffered the cane!
So, do the children prefer Victorian style schooling or todays education system?
