Welcome to Year 5
Welcome to Year 5!
In Upper Key Stage 2, the children are now preparing themselves to be role models for the younger children. We have a ‘can-do’ attitude towards our work and learning.
In Year 5, we love to learn. Our teacher and teaching assistant ensure that our learning is fun, but focussed on helping us to be the best we can be! Marvellous Maths, Exciting English and Terrific Topic is the order of each day, with thrills and spills along the way!
We will be exploring lots of exciting, engaging and interesting cross-curricular topics this year. These include: 'Vanishing Rainforests', ‘Life is the Pits!’, 'Stargazers’, 'Enough for Everyone' and ‘Invaders and Settlers’. Some of these topics will have a Creative Homework project linked them, giving us the opportunity to show our interests, strengths and talents.
Regular reading at home and school will be encouraged - after all reading is the foundation for all other learning to take place from. We will also have an emphasis on learning times tables and the spelling of key words.
Mr Summers, Mrs Haywood and the children promise to work hard so that we are able to be the best we can be!

Y4 Science Workshop- Sherbet lemon!
Y4 took part in a Science Workshop where they learned about alkaline and acids and made sherbet lemon. They even got to taste it- yum!
Chocolate Family Assembly
Well done to the Year 4's for their fantastic assembly. You were all so confident and we defintiely have some very talented actors in our class!

The Year 3 created some EXTREMELY tasty smoothies, as part of their Allotment project. Mrs C even gave them her seal of approval. Well done Y3 !

Greek Food Tasting
Year 3 loved absolutely fantastic in their Greek outfits and really enjoyed the Greek food tasting.

The Year 3 children did an excellent job of recreating Stonehenge using clay models.
Year 3 had a great trip to Creswell Crags. They had the opportunity to explore a cave, hunt reindeers and create their own Stone Age Artwork.
