Welcome to Year 5
Welcome to Year 5 from Mr Rich and Mrs Haywood.
In Upper Key Stage 2 we are now preparing ourselves to be role models to the younger children. We have a ‘can-do’ attitude towards our work and learning.
In Year 5, we love to learn. Our teacher and teaching assistant ensure that our learning is fun, but focussed on helping us to be the best we can be! Marvellous Maths, Exciting English and Terrific Topic is the order of each day, with thrills and spills along the way!
We will be exploring lots of exciting, engaging and interesting cross-curricular topics this year. These include: ‘Life is the Pits!’, ‘Alchemy Island’, ‘Spectacular Space’, ‘Invaders and Settlers’, ‘Resplendent Rainforests’ and ‘Hola Mexico’. Some of these topics will have a Creative Homework project linked them, giving us the opportunity to show our interests, strengths and talents.
Regular reading at home and school will be encouraged - after all reading is the foudnation for all other learning to take place from. We will also have an emphasis on learning times tables and the spelling of key words.
Mr Rich, Mrs Haywood and the children promise to work hard so that we are able to be the best we can be!
Keep checking out our page to see what we get up to!
