Welcome to Year 5
Welcome to Year 5!
In Upper Key Stage 2, the children are now preparing themselves to be role models for the younger children. We have a ‘can-do’ attitude towards our work and learning.
In Year 5, we love to learn. Our teacher and teaching assistant ensure that our learning is fun, but focussed on helping us to be the best we can be! Marvellous Maths, Exciting English and Terrific Topic is the order of each day, with thrills and spills along the way!
We will be exploring lots of exciting, engaging and interesting cross-curricular topics this year. These include: 'Vanishing Rainforests', ‘Life is the Pits!’, 'Stargazers’, 'Enough for Everyone' and ‘Invaders and Settlers’. Some of these topics will have a Creative Homework project linked them, giving us the opportunity to show our interests, strengths and talents.
Regular reading at home and school will be encouraged - after all reading is the foundation for all other learning to take place from. We will also have an emphasis on learning times tables and the spelling of key words.
Mr Summers, Mrs Haywood and the children promise to work hard so that we are able to be the best we can be!
Keep checking out our page to see what we get up to!
Come and play!
This morning, lots of parents and grandparents came to play with us at School... How exciting! Fun was had by all.
Egg Rolling and an ‘Easter Eggstraviganza’
Foundation had a brilliant time egg rolling today! The definition of 'rolling' was however VERY interesting...:-) On Tuesday they also had lots of fun in the hall during their special craft morning, The children made chocolatey nests with yummy eggs on, spring crowns, did some observational paintings of daffodils,...
