Bistro Porte De L’Abbaye

Class 2010-2016 on February 12th 2015

To bring our topic to a grand climax, our Year 5 classroom was transformed into a cosy little bistro in the heart of Paris.  To start the day, we enjoyed a small tasting session of a selection of petit dejeuner patisseries; Pain Au Chocolat, Pain Aux Raisin and the classic Croissant.

Then throughout the day small groups worked on preparing a four course meal with Mrs Clouet (A real French wife – Mr O’B’s of course!).

The menu included;

As well as learning how to make these wonderful French delights, we spent time finding out  and map which region of France they originated from and then finished the day with a most important tasting session.

... Oh, one last thing, try and spot the two famous French dishes we didn't make or sample. One step at a time with French cuisine!
