Oh what fun we had!
Year 5 had a great start to the second half of the Summer Term with our residential trip to Castleton YHA. We were fortunate to be able to experience the luxury of the new hostel at Losehill Hall, on the edge of the village of Castleton. We had an action packed 2 days. We started with a visit to Pevrril Castle, on our return to the Hostel we were then challenged to build a Roman Seige engine, and we finished our outdoor activities by staging a mock battle in the arena. On the second day we had great fun on the archery range (poor King Harold was shot in the eye again!), and solving Runic puzzles. We finished the session with a 'living' timeline - which was great fun. In the evening we had fun and games making kites and playing Bingo - although we were tired out from all of the activities some of us still managed to stay awake into the early hours...........
The accommodation was lovely - Losehill Hall is an impressive building set in beautiful grounds. The food was brilliant and the activites were great fun. We wished we could have stayed longer!
