Printing to create Olympic Pictograms
Class 2012-2018 on June 23rd 2016
Year 4 created amazing Olympic Pictgrams via the art method of printing.
Olympic Pictigrams are bold and dynamic images which capture the energy and colour of the Games. They are a vital way-finder for spectators at the Games. Recognisable to everyone. Olympic Pictograms are the language of images.
The art method of printing is a process that allows an image to be produced many times. Relief printing involves creating a print block with areas of the surface in relief, or sticking out. Paint is applied to the print block and then the block is pressed against paper to create the image.
