Trip to the National Mining Museum
Year 5 on September 26th 2017
As part of our topic of ‘Life is the Pits’, Year 5 went to the National Mining Museum in Wakefield. The children met Sally a 6 year old girl, who was a trapper down the mines, they also explored the Museum and its grounds and of course the children went down into the dark, gloomy pit to see what life was like for the Victorian pit workers and how mining had adapted throughout history. year 5 were very lucky as Mrs Hatton was able to join us. A great time was had by all!
