REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL…
The school has recently been re-assessed against our Basic Skills Award. This award recognises the importance we place on English and Maths skills throughout the school. This is our third assessment and I am thrilled that we passed again with flying colours and many examples of good practice cited.
Our Cross Country team are currently top of the league with Jude and Jacob (Y6) the top two fastest boys in the county…very well done!
Well done to Helen Hegarty and all who took part in the Robin Hood Mini-Marathon. You smashed your fund raising target and there was a sea of medals in Assembly on the Monday following!
We are so pleased to welcome back Garry Allen (Site Manager) and Emma Tootell (SALT) after illness. We have missed them!
Our PTA have agreed to support the school with the purchase of new books and new chairs for our classrooms. The children voted in favour of these ideas…they are also looking forward to new playtime activities and games. We genuinely would not be the school we are without the support of the PTA and of course your support of the events…THANK YOU
We donated more food than ever to the South Normanton Food Bank…Wendy Comins passes on her huge thanks. The Harvest display in the hall was fabulous I do hope you saw it or the photographs on the school’s website or Facebook page?
It is always a pleasure to see you at our Parent’s evenings. I work across the county in a number of schools and I can honestly say I work with the best team of dedicated professionals. Their commitment to your children and knowledge of their strengths and needs is outstanding and I am proud to work alongside them.
