We would like to apologise for the delay in confirming arrangements for Sport Days and thank you for your patience with this. We have now (just earlier this week) received guidance from the DfE and are thrilled that the government have now advised that we are able to invite spectators to attend the events!
In order to adhere DfE guidelines, Sports Days might look a little different this year:
Children will be competing in their their bubble, therefore we have planned extra dates and these may be shorter in length to usual in order to fit them into the school day (see dates below)
Spectators will be seated in multiple groups of 30 and it is essential that you remain in this group throughout the event. No mixing of spectator groups is allowed.
To limit the number of adults on site and to ensure everybody is seated safely, we are only able to allow a maximum of 2 adults per child/family.
Once parents have signed up, it is essential that no extra spectators turn up on the day – designated seating will have been allocated.
If you wish to attend please sign up here: https://forms.office.com/r/PHjGPSvVCy
Monday 12th July – 9.10am – Year 5 and 6
Tuesday 13th July – 9.10am – Foundation 1 and 2
Wednesday 14h July – 9.10am – Year 3 and 4
Friday 18h July – 9.10am – Year 1 and 2
Due to the added complexity of separate dates, we will endeavour to try and make sure these events go ahead whatever the weather, as postponing would be particularly difficult. Be prepared for a range of weathers (maybe even a brolly in mild rain!).
Each mini-sports day will last around 30/45 minutes. Parents can stay on site after dropping off their child at the start of the day and will be asked to make their way straight to the designated seating areas. There will be a prompt ending, so all visitors are off site before playtime to ensure a secure site. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
We look forward to seeing anyone who can attend and encourage the children in their best efforts and promote sporting behaviour. We are all very excited to share a version of one of our favourite days in the school calendar with you!
Please don’t forget:
Earrings and other jewellery cannot be worn during PE activities. If ears are to be pierced, then the 6 weeks summer holiday would be the best time.
We will write Y6 parents separately to confirm details about upcoming events including a virtual production, arrangements for the leavers’ assembly and transition to Joseph Whitaker (on Monday 5th July). Watch out for this letter coming soon!
PTA Teams Meeting
Thank you to all those who attended the ‘Meet the Headteachers’ virtual coffee morning. Following this meeting, we would like to invite all parents to attend a virtual PTA meeting on Friday 25th July at 1:30pm.
If you would like to attend, please sign up here: https://forms.office.com/r/pVESuuuiS8
Midday Supervisor Vacancy
A vacancy has arisen in school for a Midday Supervisor. The hours of work are 12.00 -1.15 every day (could job share). If you are interested in applying, please call the school office for an informal chat and an application form.
Thank you once again for all your support. We are currently finalising arrangements for staffing in September and will write to you about this very soon!
