As Noddy Holder would say (shout!) …It’s Christmas!!
What a fabulous way to start the festive season with our Wriggly Nativity and Carol Concert.
Thank you to all who came along, there were lots of smiles at the many talents of our wonderful children and Community Orchestra.
Of course it if wasn’t for the dedication and creativity of our team here (and I include Carolyn Beedle and her folk) these things would not happen. It is a true pleasure to work with such professionals. All of our new team members have become part of the Abbey Gates family so smoothly, it’s great to have them!
We have had much to celebrate at the end of term:
SPORTING SUPERSTARS - the boys’ x country team finished second in the County League, with Jude in Y5 officially the fastest boy in Notts! He, Jacob and Erin have been selected to run in the Notts Amateur Athletics event in February… watch this space!
Our football team are currently top of the league - not having lost a game all season! (Would that were true of another Red team, currently languishing mid-table - I think they may need Reid MF from Y1 who has been “spotted” by Derby County’s under 6 squad! )
MORE GOOD NEWS…
Sophia G in F2 and Isobelle J in Y5 were winners in Christmas card competitions for the local Neighbourhood watch and Mark Spencer MP- well done girls!
Our deserving Autumn Superstars are:
F2 Scarlett S
Y1 Sophie M
Y2 Mabelle F
Y3 Freya M
Y4 Imogen L
Y5 Ellie B
Y6 Freddie F
To Lorna Bowmer for stepping in during Mrs Goss’s absence, we wish Lorna well in her new role, working with Mrs McGuire! We will welcome Mrs Goss from 15 January.
Thanks to your generosity we raised over £170 and £100 for our charities - The Sleep Apnoea Trust and Diabetes UK. We remember that sometimes things can be difficult and send our warmest wishes for a fun yet peaceful Christmas to everyone!
See you next year…
