To the Summer here at Abbey Gates, check out the dates for the term to see what an action packed time we have planned!

Welcome also to our new teachers in Y1 and 2 - Mrs Annie Slater and Mr Gavin Morris. They have already made their mark here!

Ms Lucy Grace will be our full time F1 teacher over the Summer and will be acting FS/KS1 team leader. Mrs Rachel Hallam will be focusing on her role as SENCo over the term whilst also completing her Masters degree.

Wow- what a heatwave we have enjoyed! Please ensure your children are prepared to be outside in all weathers…

SLIP…on a sunhat

SLAP…on all day sun cream- remember we do NOT apply this at school so do buy long lasting cream

SLURP…plenty of water (NOT JUICE) in a named water bottle

Children will need a coat and spare footwear too please.

Please remember that holidays in term time cannot be authorised and you may incur a penalty notice/fine from the LA. We have arranged our Summer term INSET day for Friday 25 May, attached to the half term break- this should help with travel arrangements. Mr Summers has written to families where we have concerns over attendance.

School will open for children on FRIDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2018.

Our Spring term superstars were:

F2 – Lyla Mills

Y1 – Oliver Barrett

Y2 – Daisy Beck

Y3 – Louis Inman

Y4 – Luke Rivis

Y5 – Jack Dunn

Y6 – Gracie Ball

Fabulous news – our boys’ football team not only won their match 6-0 last week BUT ALSO won the League with a game in hand. Well done to all on the team and to our coach Mr Adam Martin.

This follows the success of our Basketball team who are representing Nottinghamshire at the School Games!
