We made sure Mr O’B had an appropriate and well-earned send-off yesterday, after three fun filled years at Abbey Gates! Adam really is a true original and we will MISS him and Emilie but wish them all the very best as they move to London as part of their Ministry work. Adam has really left his mark at the school, ensuring all of the children in his care feel proud of themselves, ensuring their learning is fun and meaningful and even co-designing our new logo!

As you know Pam Whalley and Flick Hatton retire at the end of term and I am proud to report that Kaye McGuire and Katie Kitching have applied for leadership roles in other schools and been successful - of course!  Whilst this means they will also be leaving us in July we are so proud of them, we “grow” all of our learners here - and Kaye and Katie can ensure that children in their new schools receive only the very best care and education, just as they have done here.

To say we will miss these wonderful people is an understatement but they have helped to shape the school and ensure we are ready for our next adventure…

I am thrilled to report that we have appointed two new teachers at the school - both “wowed” us at their interview and I Know that Miss Evie Orhcard and Mr Lloyd Allington will be fabulous members of our teaching team. They will both be visiting Abbey Gates this term and meeting the children.

We will hold our new class transition day in early July when children will meet and work with their new teachers.

Phew, even just thinking about what’s to come is exciting…take a note of the dates, sent separately and be ready for:

         The Summer Fair
         Bubbles and Bingo
         Sports Days
         Abbey Gates 50th Birthday Celebrations
         ‘We will Rock You’ production

There’s always something going on at Abbey Gates!
