Newsletter - October Update

Posted on 7th October 2020

Dear Parents

We are so looking forward to sharing your child’s progress with you. Teachers are allocating call times and will alert you when your child’s “mini-report” is available on tapestry (FS) or OneNote (KS1/2). Please remember that we can call one parent per child at this time and ask you to use the report for an update if you are not the parent who is called.

We are able to allocate up to 10 minutes per call please be understanding if we need to move on to our next parent - just like our more “usual” meetings.

Because you are not able to come and see our vibrant environment which focuses on well-being and learning, we will be putting photos of our classrooms on the website/Facebook site – I hope the children enjoy sharing these with you!

We have recently sent home a pack of textbooks (CGP). These are to be used when directed by the class teacher in cases where your child may be absent and waiting for a test/result but is feeling well enough to work. If your child is isolating for longer period then we will direct you to structured online learning - this is the recommended provision for longer periods. Please see previous letters regarding this - available on the school website.

Please do not use the CGP books until advised to do so as above so we can all make best use of them.

As you know we are regularly reviewing our practice and whilst it is not a requirement we feel it would be prudent to check the children’s temperature on entry to school each day. We await the arrival of digital forehead thermometers and plan to start this routine from Monday 12 October. If your child has a raised temperature we will ask you to take your child home and follow guidance re testing.

Thank you for supporting us and each other by socially distancing at the school gates and leaving the site as soon as you have dropped off/collected your child/children.

We certainly are in this together and are sending our best wishes to our Y6 children, Mrs Jordan, Mrs Hatton and Mr Martin and look forward to welcoming them back next week.
