Did you know that we have enjoyed sharing our Harvest festival with residents of the Homesteads in Kirkby in Ashfield for 39 years!
Thank you to all who donated items – all for a great cause and of course the hall display just gets better every year, thanks again to the display team! We are pleased to be supported by Red Earth Organics - do look at their website if you like fresh, local and organic!

We look forward to being supported by a further partnership with a local business. The Trombetta family of Ravenshead have opened a Focacceria and for every Italian bread you buy the school gets a donation of 50p - yum yum!

It was great that so many took advantage of a free school meal last week - it will soon be the turn of children and parents in Y4, 5 and 6. All our meals are freshly prepared with menus designed by nutritionists - did you know we have one of the highest “take ups” of school dinners in Notts?

I remain concerned that a number of children who bring a packed lunch are still bringing sweets, chocolate and sugary drinks.

What a fabulous event - I loved Friday especially when we had numerous outlaws and sheriffs running around! Thanks to Katie Kitching for organising such a great week! Well done to those children whose illustrations will be featured in the next print run of “The Tunnellers” see the school website for full details.

I am thrilled to let you know that we have appointed Mr Adam O’Brien as the temporary part-time teacher in Y5 - he will join the team from January 2013 to cover Mrs McGuire’s maternity leave. Miss Long will teach Y5 on Monday and Tuesday and Mr O’Brien, Wednesday - Friday. He and Miss Long will share their planning and assessment time on a Wednesday afternoon to ensure smooth transition and excellent provision for the children. He is a very experienced and “outstanding” teacher and will be an asset to the school.

Lynne Melhuish, one of our super TAs, has left the school after 12 years to take up a full time position mentoring others - Lynne will be missed but we wish her all the best in her new role!
