November 2011 Newsletter
Posted on 17th November 2011
We are celebrating anti-bullying week with a focus on friendship - what it means and how to be a good friend. The week is well timed to coincide with our current work on reviewing our anti-bullying policy and ensuring a safe, happy place to learn.
We will be seeking your views with a display during parents’ evenings in two weeks - Governors will also be on hand to listen and share ideas.
MUD, NOT SO GLORIOUS MUD…
we are having problems with mud in school and though children should be bringing a change of footwear for outside play some are forgetting. If your children are wearing slippers in school please ensure they are not “huge” but are well fitting to avoid any slips on our smooth floors
to all who supported the recent PTA Quiz night, even the team who beat the teachers! Seriously a fun night, a sell-out and an all-round success!
Do support our next event - the Christmas Fair and new/nearly new sale this Saturday 19th November 2011.
Thank you also for helping us raise £130 for the British Legion, including £90 from the sale of Lisa Tongue’s delicious buns! Apparently this was a record breaking total for the local schools supporting the Papplewick and Linby Legion - the sort of record we like to break!
Mr Hayes’ skipping challenge was very well supported too – do remember to send in your sponsor money in support of the British Heart Foundation.
Don’t forget it’s Children in Need day on Friday 18th – spots and stripes will be in abundance! I think I need to warn you to look out for Mrs McGuire and Mrs Wilson in Y4!
to share your views on lunchtime meal choice. We have had a super response to this recent survey but will be making a decision on Friday 18th November so do have your say!
as usual! The recent Indian dance workshops brought a slice of Bollywood to Ravenshead! Today Stomp came to KS2 - percussion at its most inventive and inclusive. Hope the children share what they learned at home - why not get those pots and pans out too!
ST PETER’S CHURCH, RAVENSHEAD
