to all who helped make our annual Harvest Festival so successful. Although we had less packaged foodstuffs for our guests from The Homesteads (a warden aided community from Kirkby in Ashfield) we had plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. We are pleased to “name check” Red Earth Organics and Ocado who supported us this year.
WANT A JOB?
We have a vacancy for a Midday Supervisor as Wendy Whatton is leaving us after 3 years. This is such an important role in school and full training is provided - you would be part of a great, committed team led by John Hayes, who ensure our children have fun, safe lunchtimes.
Hours of work: 12.00 - 1.10pm daily (could be job share)
Hourly rate: £6.38
If you would like to know more do get in touch by email, phone, letter or pop in to school.
HELP FOR HEROES
Do support our fundraising efforts this year re Help for Heroes and the British Legion. We will be selling poppies in school and Lisa Tongue, our cook supervisor, will be selling Poppy cup cakes at playtimes during the week beginning 7th November at 50p each. The school is proud to take part in the annual festival of Remembrance on the 11th November.
GOODBYE (but not for too long!)
Mrs Sarah Vanner will be starting her maternity leave after October half term and we have advised her to catch up on her sleep while she can! Miss Katie Allen (currently Y1) will be in F2 from October 31st and Miss Donna Holloway (currently Y2) will support Mrs Whalley who will be full time in Y1.
READ ALL ABOUT IT!
We have attached our article which will appear in the Ravenshead newsletter this month - what a busy few weeks! Thank you to the super staff who arrange such fun and educational activities for our children.
