Welcome to a new school year – usually I am sharing dates for the term and special events but the special event this year is actually that all children will be joining us on Friday 4 September and what could be better than that!
As you know we have put plans in place using government guidance and this means there are some changes - we did write out to you in July with broad plans and the staggered timetable - we have resent this as a reminder but here are a few other points to note please:
Children should not bring any items from home apart from a water bottle, packed lunch and a coat. They can bring a small bag but please do not attach “fluffy” keyrings/toys etc.… to these bags
Your class teacher will advise when the children need to come to school in their PE kit- please include a warm cover up i.e. sweatshirt (no logos please) as we will be outside for PE as much as possible
We will provide all stationery and equipment required and this will be for each child’s personal use
We will write out separately regarding reading books which thankfully we will be able to use this term
It is crucial please that you adhere to the start/end times and named gates as on the attached timetable. Please also ensure social distancing at these gathering points - this is for everyone’s safety.
We are sorry that we can’t welcome parents on to the school site at this time - we have earmarked the week beginning 12 October for parent’s evenings and of course will update you nearer the time.
We are busy on these INSET days preparing to the nth degree – it is OK to be anxious but we have done/are doing all we can to ensure a safe and happy return for everyone in school.
We have prepared a brief “survey” which you can use to share good news and things we might need to know that have occurred within your family since March. This will help us to be aware of what we might need to do/know to ensure the best start to the new school year for the children. http://tiny.cc/ur8rsz
